Make a postcard size flyer with piano clip-art on it and the name of the piano studio, along with the teacher’s name, address and phone number. Leave a blank spot in the middle to tape on a package of “Smarties” candy.
Halloween Recitals
Submitted by Marie Harris, UT
I do a different type of Halloween recital every year to keep things interesting. I rotate between these three:
Costume
Recital
Crazy Hat Recital
Crazy Shoes Recital
I always do a contest with these recitals and hand out prizes for each
category such as:
The Best (Costume,Hat or Shoe) and Song Matching
The scariest (Costume, Hat or Shoe)
The prettiest (Costume,Hat or Shoe)
The special mention (Costume,Hat or Shoe) (The special mention award
is for "something" that deserves an award but there isn't a category for
it.)
I also ask each family to bring one bag of "wrapped candy" to the recital. I supply several big bowls the parents dump the candy brought to the recital and also supply "little" Halloween treat bags. When the recital is over the students line up at the table where all the candy is and they go trick or treating. Sometimes I will hand out tickets for the audience members as they are arriving to enter in a drawing for tickets to attend a haunted house or tape several coupons under a chair for a donut at a local donut store.
